Session Overview:

Join Arizona and Colorado SILC members for a session related to creating and sustaining strategic partnerships which bridge gaps and mitigate barriers for people who have disabilities statewide. This session will provide an overview of the efforts implemented by two SILCs to create and sustain strategic partnerships which have turned passion into powerful results that keep on giving.

About Your Presenters:

Shawnique Cotton (she/her)

Shawnique Cotton is Chair of Arizona Statewide Independent Living Council (AZSILC), where she also serves as Chair of their Emergency Preparedness Committee. She acquired both spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries 32 years ago, and lives with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Shawnique's passion is around diverse representation in leadership, and people who have disabilities leading in their communities. She loves when people win and works to ensure that people who have disabilities have meaningful opportunities to contribute. Shawnique's place of joy is with her two adult sons, her daughter-in-law, and two beautiful grandbabies.

Scott Lindbloom (he/him)

Scott Lindbloom is a member of the Colorado Statewide Independent Living Council and was previously the Vice Treasurer of Arizona Statewide Independent Living Council. Scott has also served on a variety of advisory groups in the areas of developmental disabilities and mental health disabilities in both Nebraska and Arizona. Scott's passion is improving services in rural communities, and he specializes in rolling up his sleeves to work toward those goals. Scott is a national self-advocacy award recipient, who feels self-advocacy is the driving force for people to get what they need in their communities.
