Session Overview:

The workshop will be outlining the process of building a film making program, from a small grant with community resources to being funded by larger foundations. With the potential to also create a short film during the conference from start to final product.

About Your Presenters:

John Howard (he/him)

John Howard is the BASE Program coordinator for BASE which is an all ages all abilities program of Summit independent living center. He has been in this position for 7 years and has worked to connect people disabilities to the comedy and art community in Missoula MT through providing opportunities for consumers to showcase their talents and arts within the community.

 

Gavin Workman (he/him)

Gavin Workman is the Youth Coordinator at Summit Independent Living Center and works closely with the team at BASE to provide a variety of programs. He is the primary cinematographer for the BASE film program and worked side by side with John Howard from the initial grant to the current blossoming of the program. Gavin graduated with a bachelors in psychology in 2012 and has been working in various social work roles for the last 11 years.
