Session Overview:

This session will go over how to overcome day-to-day barriers and how to help individuals with disability who have refugee background, and know how to make a difference to their disability world. This session will discuss what it is like to be a refugee with disability in a new country, what people are expecting and what they are fearing, easy and difficult things to meet people and to learn new language, when they start feeling independent, and what day to day barriers people with disability face in other countries.

Cecile Atimango 

Cecile Atimango, 22 years of age, was born in the Congo and is now living in Idaho working for LINC, Southwest Idaho's Center for Independent Living, as an Independent Living Peer Specialist.
